MRPM500 Alpine Monoblock 500 Watt RMS Power Amplifier

Alpine MRP-M500 Class D Monoblock Amplifier (MRPM500) Review

If your looking for great value and great sound, get this MRP-M500 - Alpine Monoblock 500 Watt RMS Power Amplifier. The Class-D circuitry makes the MRP-M500 amp very efficient so that it will work well in most vehicles electrical systems.

Alpine M500 mono amp is a nice series of mid-grade amplifiers. They are not a high end, but they price is isn't "high end" either. They are efficient and work well with vehicles that don't exactly have a lot of extra amps available for powering amplifiers.

The MRPM500 is powering a 12-inch subwoofer in a small, sealed box. That's not exactly a formula for maximum bass impact, but the M500 does a great job pushing car subwoofers to its fullest potential. The Class-D circuitry makes the MRP-M500 - Alpine Monoblock amp very efficient so that it will work well in most vehicles electrical systems.

The only downside we've found on this Alpine car audio product is that the EQ functions are rather limited. You get controls for center frequency, crossover point, and bass boost. It makes it a little more difficult to get a smooth sound between this Alpine MRP-M500 and your four-channel amp. It just takes longer than if there were more EQ controls. Also, the bass boost puts a definite peak in its frequency output so that the amplitude drops off above and below the center frequency. That means that if you want to get the maximum power output, your range is going to be somewhat limited.
